Learn how you can install the Nightfall DLP for Zendesk.
1. Click Begin Setup to start the simple installation flow via Nightfall
Nightfall for Zendesk supports both sandbox and production instances. Please select the one applicable to your setup. In this example, we will be onboarding a production instance.
Click Continue once you select your instance type.
Type in your Zendesk subdomain or Instance name in the text field. In this example, we added nightfall3968. Select Connect to Zendesk when completed. This will navigate to the Zendesk sign-in page where we recommend the service account with full admin privileges is used.
Select Switch to agent sign-in (if applicable), then proceed to add the email and password associated with either a service account (Recommended) or a user account that has full Zendesk admin privileges.
You will be navigated to an authentication page with more information on how Nightfall and Zendesk will establish a secure connection. Please click Allow to continue
Once you select Allow, you will be navigated back to Nightfall and be prompted to install the Nightfall DLP Zendesk Marketplace app.
Note: Authentication and App installation for Zendesk are two independent steps. Both need to be completed for the setup to be complete.
If you have already installed the app via the Zendesk Marketplace, you can go directly to Step 9. Click Install. In a new tab, you will be prompted to install the Nightfall DLP Zendesk marketplace app via the Zendesk Admin console.
Optional: Add Role or Group restrictions which will limit who can remove or add the applications from Zendesk.
In Settings, ensure the Status and App Installed are 'Authorized' and 'Yes' with a green highlight. If a Zendesk instance becomes disconnected, you can use this settings page to monitor and reconfigure any connections as needed.
If you would like to add another instance of Zendesk, Click + Add Instance and repeat steps 1-10 above.

Learn how you can configure the integration level alerts in Nightfall DLP for Zendesk.
The Nightfall DLP for Zendesk supports the configuration of alerts at the policy level and the integration level. Alerts for Zendesk can be sent to the following alert destinations.
When you configure alert settings at the integration level, the alert settings apply to all the policies, created for the Zendesk DLP integration. However, when you configure alert settings specifically for a policy, which is created in the Zendesk DLP integration, the alert settings are applicable only for that specific policy.

To use Slack as an alert platform, you must first perform the required Slack configurations. You can refer to this document to learn more about how to configure Slack as an Alert platform.
To use Webhook as an alert platform, you must first perform the required Webhook configurations. You can refer to this document to learn more about how to configure Webhook as an Alert platform.
To use JIRA as an alert platform, you must have the DLP for the JIRA app installed from the Atlassian Marketplace. You can read more about the DLP for JIRA integration here.
You can configure alerts at the integration level once you have installed the Nightfall for Zendesk DLP integration.
To configure alerts at the integration level:
Navigate to the Zendesk DLP integration
Scroll down to the Alerting section.
You can configure one or multiple alert channels.
To configure Slack as an alert channel, click + Slack channel.
In the Slack alert channel field, enter the name of the Slack channel in which you wish to receive the alerts.
Click Save.
A confirmation pop-up box is displayed to confirm if the Slack channel (entered in the second step) must be used only for Zendesk DLP integration or all the Nightfall integrations.
Select No, only integration level to use the Slack channel only for Zendesk DLP, or select Yes, please to use the selected Slack channel for all the Nightfall integrations.
Click + Email.
Enter the Email ID of the recipient who should receive the notifications.
Click Save.
A confirmation pop-up box is displayed to confirm if the Email ID (entered in the second step) must be used only for Zendesk DLP integration or all the Nightfall integrations.
Select No, only integration level to use the Slack channel only for Zendesk DLP, or select Yes, please to use the selected Slack channel for all the Nightfall integrations.
Click + Webhook.
Enter the Webhook URL.
Click Test. If the test result is not successful, check the Webhook URL.
(Optional) Click Add Header to add headers.
Click Save.
When you configure alerts to a Webhook, Nightfall AI sends occasional posts to:
To validate that the Webhook is properly configured before the policy is saved.
Periodically thereafter to ensure that the Webhook is still valid.
The response to the test Webhooks is 200
status code if successful.
An example of Webhook request is as follows.
This is part of alert event consumption and can be ignored.
Click + Jira Ticket.
Select a JIRA project from the Jira Project drop-down menu.
Select an issue type from the Issue Type drop-down menu.
(Optional) Add comments to be added in the JIRA ticket.
Click Save changes.
A confirmation pop-up box is displayed to confirm if the JIRA settings configured for the Zendesk DLP integration must be applied to all the other Nightfall integrations too.
Select No, only integration level to use the configurations only for Zendesk DLP, or select Yes, please to use the selected JIRA configurations for all the Nightfall integrations.
When a Violation occurs, Nightfall sends a notification to the end-user whose actions triggered the violation. While notifying the end-user, Nightfall also sends a text message. You can draft the text message to be sent to the end-user. This message applies to all the policies. Click Save changes once done.

Before you get started with configuring Nightfall DLP for Zendesk, you must install the app.
Make sure the following requirements are fulfilled before you get started.
Prior to setting up Zendesk, please make sure to have the following:
One or multiple active Zendesk instances.
Any of the following Zendesk Licenses: Team, Growth, Professional, Enterprise, or Enterprise Plus.
A Zendesk service account with full admin permissions for Zendesk.
Verify the service account has the ability to install Zendesk support apps.
A Nightfall admin account to complete the setup process.
The user, with the Zendesk service account, will log into the Nightfall app to establish the OAuth connection between Nightfall and Zendesk.
Start by logging in to the Nightfall console at .
Once logged in, please navigate to the Zendesk option, on the left-hand side of the console.
